World War II: Torpedo Bombers

After attending the Brera Academy of Fine Arts (1926), he is acclaimed as an artist and sculptor by creating works dedicated to Riccardo Zandonai, Federico Halbherr, Benito Mussolini and to the Rovereto irredentist martyrs Damiano Chiesa and Fabio Filzi. In 1937 he obtains his civil pilot’s licence and, when Italy joins the war in June 1940, he enlists as a volunteer in the Italian Royal Air Force, taking part as a photo-cinematographic operator in the missions conducted by the torpedo bombers in the eastern Mediterranean area and on the island of Cyprus. He dies in Ortisei on 7 April 1991. Bronze Medal of Military Valor.
