World War II: Torpedo Bombers

He fights in eastern Africa with the 10th Bombing Squadrilla (SIAI S.81) but, wounded in action, is repatriated at the start of 1941. Back in service, he operates in the Mediterranean with the 281st Torpedo Bombers Squadrilla. Promoted to captain and commander of the 281st, he continues operating up until the armistice, after which he fights in the Italian Co-Belligerent Air Force (Baltimore Wing) of the “Kingdom of the South”, completing 78 war missions. He then serves with the Italian Military Air Force, discharged with the rank of  air squadron general. Gold Medal of Military Valor, seven Silver Medals of Military Valor, of which six in the field, one Iron Cross 2nd Class.
