World War II: Torpedo Bombers

After obtaining his civil pilot’s licence, he enlists in the Italian Royal Air Force and fights in the Mediterranean (January 1942-January 1943) with the 281st Torpedo Bombers Squadrilla of Buscaglia (132nd Group). In June 1942, he sinks the British destroyer Bedouin. Downed in the skies over Bona (Algeria) in January 1943, he is rescued and treated back to health. In the post-war period he is a member of the National Liberation Committee (CLN) of Trento and of the Regional Autonomous Research Center (CSAR) as a representative of the Action Party. In 1963 he establishes the helicopter company Aersud Elicotteri. One Gold Medal of Military Valor, one Silver and one Bronze in the field, two War Crosses of Military Valor.
