Enlisted as a volunteer in the Italian Royal Air Force in January 1938, he reaches the rank of pilot sergeant major. He takes part in war operations on the western front (11-25 June 1940), on the North Sea with the Italian Air Corps (CAI) during the Battle of Britain (October 1940-February 1941), on the Greco-Yugoslavian fronts (April 1941) and in northern Africa (1941-1942) with the 4th Bombing Squadrilla. He dies in Milan on 14 July 1942 during an air raid of the allies on the Officine Caproni. One War Cross of Military Valor in the field.
