He serves in Italy from June 1940 to September 1943. After the armistice, he joins the ranks of the National Republican Air Force (ANR) with the 1st Fighter Group that flies the German Messerschmitt Bf.109 G aircraft (8 September 1943-14 March 1945). He dies in Idro on 14 March 1945 during an air battle against US bombers and fighter planes.
