Marshal of the Italian Royal Air Force, he is sent to Eritrea (29 January 1935) and then to Somalia (12 March 1935) to fight with the 9th Bombing Squadrilla (Caproni Ca.101bis). From 3 October 1935 to 5 May 1936, he takes part in the Italo-Ethiopian war. Repatriated in January 1938, he is assigned to the 38th Bomb Wing and sent to Albania (8 April 1939). He fights on the Greek-Albanian front (28 October 1940-23 April 1941), in the Balkans and in the Mediterranean. After the armistice, he is cut off from his unit and returns to Trentino (8 September 1943-5 May 1945). Two Bronze Medals of Military Valor, one War Cross of Military Valor and one encomium.
