An aviation pioneer, he trains in France on board Farman aircraft (1912). Back in Italy, he continues his aeronautical career as an instructor, working with Fiat and testing up to more than twenty airplane models, including the Fiat N.3. Assigned to the Aviator Battalion, he is a renowned test pilot who breaks several aeronautical speed and altitude records. From 1936 to 1940, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he commands the Cameri air base. In the period after WWII, he holds several civil aviation positions while continuing to work with Fiat. Discharged with the rank of Air Brigade General, he establishes the Associazione Arma Aeronautica association.
