World War II: Transport

After obtaining his military pilot’s licence on a Caproni Ca.100 (1935), he serves in Ferrara and Vicenza. He obtains a degree in law in 1938 and is recalled with the rank of lieutenant (1940) and assigned to 246th Transport Squadrilla (SIAI S.81), in which he serves in northern Africa and on the eastern front, completing over 230 war missions. In the post-war period he is nominated director of the flight school of the Aeroclub Trento and helps in the construction of the ‘Gianni Caproni’ Airport in Mattarello. In 1973-1974, he runs the National School of Mountain Flying. He dies in Trento at the venerable age of 105. One Bronze Medal of Military Valor in the field, a War Cross to military valor and a 2nd class Iron Cross.
