The Spanish Civil War (1936-1939)

After obtaining his military pilot’s licence (1933), he takes part in the Spanish war (1936-1938). In March 1939, he is at the controls of the twin-motor Fiat BR.20L that, commanded by Maner Lualdi, carries out a non-stop civilian flight from Rome to Addis Ababa performed in 11 hours and 25 minutes at an average speed of 400 km/h. In WWII, he operates on the Greek-Albanian (Fiat BR.20), Balkan and eastern fronts where he commands, as captain, the 246th Transport Squadrilla (SIAI S.81). In the post-war period, he continues his military career and is discharged with the rank of Air Brigade General (1966). He dies in Riva del Garda in 1992. Silver Medal of Military Valor in the field.
