An engineering student, he enlists at a very young age. Promoted to second lieutenant (1915), he is transferred to the Aviation Corps and obtains his pilot’s licence. Assigned to the 2nd Observation Squadrilla, he then transfers to the 5th Squadrilla to perform reconnaissance missions on the Isonzo front and over Trieste (1916) and then raids over the railway stations of Bolzano and Innsbruck. Having qualified to fly the Ansaldo SVA5 (1917), he joins the 87th Squadrilla (‘La Serenissima’). With D’Annunzio and Locatelli, on 9 August 1918 he participates in the flight over Vienna. In the post-war period, during the Padua-Paris-Rome-Paris raid, he is forced to land due to a malfunction. He freezes to death on Mont Pourri on 23 March 1919.
