The Records

Born in a wealthy family of Trentino origins, she obtains her pilot’s licence when she is just nineteen and in a few months hits the front pages of the newspapers by participating and taking seventh place in the air tour of Lombardy (1931). In 1932, on board a light airplane, the Breda 15 I-TALY, she participates in a 25-day long European raid attended by aviators from eight nations. The success of this initiative pushes her to engage in an even more ambitious feat, a flight from Milan to Delhi. During the crossing, however, she crashes in the Libyan desert, between Bengasi and Tobruk, due to a sand storm, on 3 December 1932.
