After getting his pilot’s licence (1924), he attends the first course for high speed pilots in Desenzano (1928), and as a non-commissioned officer he tests almost all of the racer seaplanes used by the school. He participates in the Schneider Trophy (1929) and in the Air Tour of Italy for private planes (1930). In 1932 he wins the Baracca prize; in 1933, with a Macchi Castoldi MC.72, he achieves the new record for speed (682 Km/h), which he then beats in 1934 (709 km/h). In 1935 he works as an officer at the Guidonia Testing Center (1935) and is then assigned to the technical surveillance office. He dies in Milan on board a Macchi M.202. Gold Medal of Aeronautic Valor.
